Still on a Stalemate

65 Court Street informed me that it is NOT KEEN on approving my leave without pay to teach overseas because the Department of Defense Language Institute in NOT on its list of schools where NYCDOE teachers can teach abroad. I retorted that the UFT-DOE contract is copied and attached to my application and she can read through it that an NYCDOE tenured teacher can teach overseas for one year, renewable for another year, provided it is sponsored by the FEDERAL government. I kept my mouth zipped because I did not want to antogonize the lady processor.

Up to this entry, my Principal de la Rosa has not moved to affix his signature to certify that I am a tenured teacher in his school, with XXX amount of leave credits and XXX number of FMLA I had taken since XXX years hence. Please note that my school superintendent has already approved this application for LWOP and had been accepted and entered into the HR Connect log book for processing, but HR Connect could not process it for lack of the pincipals's signature.

Oh dear, oh dear, when will administrators STOP retaliating on renegade UFT Chapter Leaders who would like to go on leave without pay to perform a very humbling chore, i.e. teach overseas in military bases either in Iraq or Afghanistan?
